Structural Analysis
High-fidelity finite element analysis (FEA) enabling safe and reliable engineering design.
Overview
EFAN provides advanced finite element analysis (FEA) services, primarily for fusion, accelerator, and nuclear systems. Leveraging ANSYS Workbench, our analyses cover static, contact, and transient simulations to support engineering decisions from conceptual design through detailed validation.
Analytical Methods & Tools
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Static and transient structural simulations
- Contact mechanics (bolted joints, surface interactions, friction)
- Linear and nonlinear response analysis
- Software: ANSYS Workbench
Required Information
- 3D CAD models (STEP, etc.), engineering drawings
- Load conditions (static loads, thermal loads, accelerations, pressure, etc.)
- Boundary conditions (constraints, symmetry, contact pairs)
- Material properties (elastic modulus, yield strength, Poisson’s ratio, CTE, etc.)
- Acceptance criteria (allowable stress, design codes (RCC-MRx, ASME, JSME), safety factors)
Deliverables
- Stress distribution maps (principal and von Mises contours)
- Displacement fields and deformation modes
- Integrity assessment reports (assumptions, modeling, validation, discussion)
- Design improvement proposals (e.g., thickness optimization, reinforcement ribs)
Case: Transient thermal analysis video (heat input distribution moving over time).

Case: Peak temperature over time during operation derived from the transient analysis.
